Menswear

Menswear
Recently I shot work of  stylist & celebrity television personality Rashon Carraway for Style Media LLC. Rashon was a lot of fun to work with. He is extremely detail oriented and that's how someone lands on the Nate Berkus show and what makes him a dream to work with. It was a pleasure to shoot his work and to have my work represented by Style Media LLC.

Watching Documentary & Jaw Drops

Watching Documentary & Jaw Drops

I had the privilege of attending a Vogue Photographers Party during Fashions Night Out New York. To my complete shock I was asked to photograph Estelles Ebanks. Yes the Victoria Secrets model and was asked to supply the images as soon as possible. So once I returned to my computer that evening I was on it to return the finals to Estelles camp. I also received email from the other subjects camp requesting images. Ok so that's fine but I was requested to shoot a famous model by her camp so that approval was first. What I did not know was who she was with. I had no clue her friend was Kevin Liles Executive Vice President Warner Music Group. So when his camp asked for the image I asked they wait for final image approval from Estelles camp.... YES keep in mind I could have googled his name, I could have dropped the loyalty to the person who asked me to shoot, I could have done so many things if I knew who he was but knowing this and thinking about it now I would not have changed a thing..I have him listed in my phone as Kevin NYC PR... Yes I have the info and I would place hard cold cash that his camp thinks Im crazy for not releasing prior to Estelles camp but my hope is if they remember this they laugh about it and also think of my loyalty to a subject. With that said I was watching a Jay-Z documentary and this is when my jaw dropped and I could not stop laughing at this "Classic Erin" move.... That move would be part of my motto "shoot and move along, people are people"... So my public statement

Dear Mr. Liles,
As you are aware I covet a subjects privacy and would like to photograph your friend Jay-Z. I would like to keep it raw and document Mr. Z in black and white in the city. I will make myself available to his schedule and yours if desired. Thank you in advance for your time.

Photo Shoot in Charleston with Clothing Pulled from the Runway of Charleston Fashion Week 2012

Photo Shoot in Charleston with Clothing Pulled from the Runway of Charleston Fashion Week 2012

Its hard to explain how grateful I am when it comes to my photography and shooting with amazing people. Ive had a crazy run and every turn seems to leave me knowing if it all ends tomorrow its been a fun ride.

I had a shoot in Charleston for Style Media and the talent in front of me held a few cards... One of the models is a designer and is part of Charleston Fashion Weeks history and very well known... she was stopped on the streets ... talk about cool and the second model is on the reality tv show Survivor but will not say if he won.... my hope is he does so vote & cheer for Jay... I would also like to add the MUA/Hair Stylist was amazing.. she on site did amazing work it as crazy... Then the two stylists for the shoot jammed it out including pulled right off the runway from Charleston Fashion Week... It was amazing to see what I just shot on the runway in front of me... To be honest when one item walked I thought of what I could do with that & did it was so cool to have my random thoughts happen... I also had my publisher & assistant by my side to cheer and help me...

News travels fast... the next day in the Charleston Fashion Week Media Room one of the main coordinators knew I/style media had a shoot with fashion pulled from the runway... So the lesson is ... fashion as vast as it is really is a small community always be good.....So random I know I'm not a writer so the final visuals will hit April 14th at the release party

Olivia Pires - Nika Designs Charlotte Style Magazine

Olivia Pires - Nika Designs Charlotte Style Magazine

I'm a Cover Girl is what I like to shout but really it's just a photo I shot but hey it sounds good! The name of this cover girl is Olivia Pires and I'm pretty lucky to work with this model. Lucky for several reasons and one is her mother and NY/NC agent have her on lock down. Yes she is famous in Japan and does not talk about it, she shot the American Eagle campaign does not brag about it and I'm sure that's the tip of the iceberg... actually I know she is slated for a few national/international things so this could be the last shoot I'm allowed to have with her... YES I said allowed remember she is on lock down and her 'handlers' are very mindful of who she works with.. So thanks for the approval and knowing I/We also take good care of her image... NO Beauty School for the model it's simply not allowed.

Knowing her image is on lock down  and understand the value of being able to work with Olivia... I as the director of photography for Charlotte Style Magazine almost did not use her. I know national photography fashion trends and sorry Calvin & D. Furstenberg your winter line having to be shot in color incl. a mix of designers was not going to work for one of our three editorials, sorry I love local fashion designers but no not going to happen.... Then the Niki/Nika story hit (see below) and I knew this was the one... Sure it will be in color but its a collection of a national/international designer. Yes the clothes have been worn by a lot of famous people (read the article) this should fit and keep your fingers crossed Ms. Olivia is in Charlotte when it's time. So yes it worked because as much as I don't want to allow my personal life to filter in the work life... I know the Pires family and I believe Susan would 'jack' me and pull Olivia out of a shoot in a second so I had to do this right. The shoot team had to be right, the location if any had to be right..... oh the things I have to think about... So it was all perfect thanks to my friend Leigh Jones she just sealed the deal on the location.... (see Niki below).

Basically what happened that this became a cover too was this entire story took on a life of its own. I cant thank my publisher enough for quietly taking a risk on this being a editorial as it was slated to be one shot in one article but really I wonder what her face looked like when she reviewed the previews... Mine was like Oh No one photo out of the day.... good luck to her for making the final selection... glad that's not my job... but she is smart she knows the value of this type of model and designer and is always on her toes with being ahead of the game... I'm just lucky she found me and asks me to play in her sandbox.

I found out in NY that this was going to be the cover and that actually it was going to be a double cover... I was stunned and had to keep my mouth shut for weeks. It was painful to not tell the team and Susan Pires the good news but the reward came when at the magazine release party , hearing Ms. Olivia say "It's Me" it was so sweet to hear the surprise in her voice and then to see the designer Niki Kapoor just smiling at both covers and approval on the model moms face, what a relief.... remember it's a lot of pressure of 'will they like it' do they like it' and I pretend to not care but I do... Its so important that people like the final portrait I shoot. Plus I always when working shoot for more than what its slated for and it seems to pay off.. The no sleep, stress and the just keep shooting until your hand is broken (it happens)..... remember photographers actually have long days, live with the photos after the shoot, submit and resubmit corrections it really is a long process from the word go... When the shoot is over for the team my work has basically just begun.... sure assistants are nice but I look at every single image, process individually if it holds merit because I have real darkroom habits and basically stop and think about the set of images as a collection. This type of obsession takes time and sure I torture myself with it but I'm ok with that.... its my process.

Many thanks to the following people and a special thank you to the handlers of Ms. Olivia for saying yes to a shoot with me.... And Ms. Olivia don't forget our conversations of your retirement plan, your mom is always right (sigh), education is key, and never forget you are one amazing model for simply being yourself at all times.

Embracing Out Takes While Landing in Comfort

1

Embracing Out Takes While Landing in Comfort
My mind keeps thinking about this set of out takes (handful shown above). The photos I decided to cut and why did I do this. This takes me to the first set of images labeled 1. These were fun just playing shots but if you notice she is falling... she stops, slowly tips, arms open, then lands so relaxed this is exactly what a shoot like this feels like... breath, arms out, fall in and relax.

Believe it a lot of pressure rides on the photographer well chances are good it's self imposed but... say a shoot like this.. On set I had the actual designer, a magazine publisher, model, hair stylist, makeup artist, location owner, recommendation for location, custom jewelry included boutique jewelry and the designers two assistants oh video being shot. So knowing my job is to please everyone with my finals, location backdrop, lighting and well with a model like this she knows what to do but still I have to get the angle on what she gives. With I believe a total of 5 gowns to shoot so that means fun downtime watching them work or well that's what I do while setting up the next shot. Sometimes I find out that what I want for the background is not going to work so it's changing time during this gown... So people are relaying on the final product is really what I should say and I'm at the end of the models line when she jumps from station to station.... remember she hits every department, crazy right.

After hitting every station its my turn. What I quickly figured out is without a proactive shoot team and I mean all of the people listed above you never have outtakes like these examples shown here. What you will see here are some processed images and some half processed or none at all but the point is without team work my outtakes would never look so pretty. Also I think it has to do with the organic manor that most of the people I work with come with. One thing I do have to take pride in is working closely with my subjects. Really some of the out takes are just hilarious... what this tells me is this subject enjoyed the experience from station to station.... and that's where the soft landing in the first set of images leaves me... it leaves me with the thought of how lucky I feel to be surrounded with such talented happy people.

Sure this shoot team has names and that's a whole new blog post. The point is a lot rides on photographers but when I work with great people I can open your arms to embrace them and land comfortably knowing they would understand the explanation of what got cut because after all its their art too......

breath, arms out, fall in and relax.

Niki Kapoor Nika Designs Cover 1 of 2 - Charlotte Style Magazine

Niki Kapoor Nika Designs Cover 1 of  2 - Charlotte Style Magazine
It's one thing to shoot a designers work and its another when you shoot a designer and her work all in one day... meaning oh wow the designer is on set. I arrived nervous and left feeling like this was the best shoot I ever. Meaning this shoot was rewarding for many reasons....

This shoot took on a life of its own. The first thing out of the gate was one of the beauty editors of Charlotte Style mentioned Niki Kapoor, her work but most important he stressed her charity. So when the green light was given by our publisher my thought was where, I know the perfect model but where. Then comes my friend of many years Leigh Jones. She stopped by one day and asked 'so what ya got going on'... So I did one of those "Pssstttt its secret but" then Leigh said I think I have something for you. These friends of mine have this amazing private home and get this they are builders from India... Leigh delivered this strange cosmic connections of sorts. We visited the location and the owner of the home KD was so nice. I thought this must be a dream but again this was a baby step to the cosmic connection. We really had a blast visiting KD as she just made you feel at ease in her beautiful home. I wanted to move in I felt so welcome. Many thanks to KD and her husband for hosting this shoot.

The day of the shoot I arrived with a slight plan but knew it was best to be organic. Meaning allow the artists to be artists. The shoot team that day was Larry D. Webb on hair and Adrian D. Howe as the mua and Ms. Olivia as our model. This team is always a treat to work with... but then the actual designer portraits for the artical. The publisher ordered up a softer background for the cover photograph or what could be the cover... So once this was shot the publisher and subject approved we moved forward to the other images in this artical. Keep in mind my goal was to use as many different backgrounds in the beautiful home as possible to give each shot a new look. We nailed it ok so this home is so georgus we basically worked in the main entry and formal living room and were done. I could not believe how stunning this home is.... so many shots every turn you make... it was a dream location.

The important information I'm leaving out is the cosmic connection that was made with Niki her mother and KD the home owner... So catch this they are all from the same home town in India... What are the chances of this happening.. Then the next is Niki is building a home for children in India and the home owner and her husband are builders from India building communities in the US... How did my friend Leigh peg this, how did she make this cosmic connection without knowing it was. So wild.

Then the entire story took on a life of its own when Niki was interviewed during the gown shoot. The writer and Niki disappeared for a long while during the model/gown shoot. I knew once the writer came up for air with the look on her face she was bitten by the bug of SEED. Basically I would love to tell you the entire story of SEED but feel its something best left to the writer... BUT basically its to assist children all over the world. For the children who have been written off by socitey (yes it happens) to give them education and stabality to ensure a full life as a child to adult... Really the concept is amazing and Niki has been setting the ground work for five years in India and will take her mission to other countries. The reason for India first is because this is her home and has a group of professionals working on the ground right now.... really this story is so much bigger than I could ever express in a blog... so check out www.charlottestylemag.com to read the story.

What this shoot taught me was to think global, never be nervous and some subjects really prefer to be behind the scenes shedding light on a bigger issue most people never see. So thank you Niki for putting me at ease by being yourself. I suggest everyone take a look S.E.E.D. and see how you may assits with this global crisis, believe me I'm on the volunteer list... see I already forgot she is a international designer with work in no less than 13 countries and I was lucky enough to photograph her...  This cover video for Niki is short and sweet because really I have a feeling Niki would prefer less attention on her and more attention to the information at the end of the video.

Thank you to the enitre shoot team this day and to Leigh for creating this cosmic connection.

Kelly Thomas - Charlotte Style Magazine

Kelly Thomas - Charlotte Style Magazine
Just writing about my experience photographing Kelly Thomas makes me laugh. Kelly is so much fun. She should walk around with a spotlight trained on her because her personality should be on stage... BUT not in one of those 'who is this girl' type of moods... she is just fun and loves her work. Kelly is also happy in her own skin. As a photographer you quickly learn who is comfortable and who is not... When I asked Kelly do you have a side or look you prefer she basically said "This is what you get" my thought was YES she is going to be fun. Kelly is simply one of those people who is just happy and willing to go with the flow so for me she was a dream to photograph. I added the actual image as a overlays to the side as her smile makes me smile so why not share.

Many thanks to Kelly Thomas for having fun and for wearing that killer dress.... I loved the sparkle it complements your personality.

Fresh boutique window at night shoot

Fresh boutique Ad shoot
I wanted to post a few images from this shoot because I do like them and was reminded of this shoot when I posted the ads (see below).. My hopeful pick was the bottom right if you have ever worked with me you know why... a few notes about this shoot I did use one studio light, the black around the window is true, and her shirt color reminds me of my grandmothers old car....
Thanks for viewing!

Wendy Williams - Charlotte Style Magazine

Wendy Williams - Charlotte Style Magazine
Wendy Williams I believe is a pretty true person. The reason why I say this is because when she was in town Charlotte Style Magazine had a scheduled interview and photo shoot with her. Due to scheduling it was cancelled at the last second. Sure it would have been cool to photograph her one on one but the coolest part is she kept her word on the interview at a later date. So really when the day ends I ask myself how did she even know she could not make a interview. My guess is no matter how famous you are and on the go true people know their business... That justifies me never feeling guilty again watching her show when I catch it on tv.

Dana Jennings - Charlotte Style Magazine

Dana Jennings - Charlotte Style Magazine
Dana Jennings, Charlotte Style Magazine wait a minute she is wearing a million dollar ring, ears dripping with gems, swinging a Halston purse out on the town.... and two of the six looks just did not make the cut.. OH the clothing was not quite what someone as amazing as Dana would wear... Well I see what your saying.... it does not matter how expensive the item is if it does not work it does not work. Dana is working those clothes though check her out working those shoulders, head tilt and proper hand placement.... she rocked those super expensive, unique clothes but they got 'chopped'.

The posts above reflect out takes I really like but the 4 looks make the cut and then the two skirt looks well those hit the cutting room floor.. and I see why its just not Dana. Although Charlotte Style uses models we also respect nature of who they are... Dana is just to lively for the wardrobe/images with the scissors chopping the photo, we new it the day of but that was the assignment so it was shot. I thought the scissors and truth of the images could be informational because really just because you shoot it that does not mean it will run..... sad but thats how things work.

Wow six advertisements REALLY How - Charlotte Style Magazine Fall 2011

Wow six advertisements REALLY How - Charlotte Style Magazine Fall 2011
Wow six advertisements REALLY How, Oh I would love to say it's because I'm cool but it's not. Read the snip its to find out how this happened.
Adrian D. Howe - If you follow my blog or know me you know Adrian and I work together all the time so this was ALMOST a given but wait... if you follow her you would see she is rocking it and has a giant collection of work with other photographers so really I got lucky because believe me she does not play favorites... yeah breaks my heart too...

Pink Hanger - I must confess when the scheduling dance happened with this shoot due to seasonal clothing arrivals It was easy for me to score this shoot. Meaning the first photographer scheduled for this was booked... So when the chance to shoot Ms. Dana Jennings opened I promptly grab it because I wanted it anyway. I think Dana is a great model and nails every frame while having fun. We shot in store, moved a few things around and the staff of Pink Hanger basically said have fun so we did.... Thank you Dana!!

Stylish Reads - Oh come on you know Charlotte Style Magazines Web Girl by now and yes the Web Girl reads... she does a lot you will see in time. So far she has given you invites on a sliver platter and toasted you with Waterford Crystal  now she is holding a real hardback book challenging you to read... oh she has more tricks up her sleeve so stay tuned to Charlotte Style for her next appearance.

Salon Vivace - You would think this would be a easy sell... well ladies and gentlemen just because I know Larry - Salon Vivace Soutpark does not mean its going to be my photo in a Salon Vivace ad.  Salon Vivace has a national campaign, 13 or more locations in the US and Canada and being in this industry they have lots of photographers they work with. Basically I got lucky this image was submitted to the owner and he liked it. From what I gathered  the image basically sells a lifestyle. After hearing this I took a second look at it. I find it does because really I may not look like this model but when I leave Larry at Salon Vivace after my appointment I feel like she looks.... happy. Oh perfect skin too.... yes this is really her skin no photoshop tricks promise... scroll in it's at 300 dpi... Basically I'm so flattered the owner approved this.

KK Bloom - Im thrilled this image made the cut. The owner of KK Bloom works with a lot of photographers, I know has distinct taste, and could use any image she wanted to. So it just thrills me to see this 'little cat fight' image being used this was a great shoot. Im glad to see it and surprised to see it.

Fresh - I have to admit I have admired this store window for well ever. This window is located in Charlotte and I'm from Charlotte.. Oh I have a thing for windows and its not a recent thing (don't ask). So knowing this ad was slated to shoot I took it.. Yes at first I assigned someone to this boutique but the photographer theme I felt would not work for the mood of this store. So basically to not crush this photographers creative concept we discussed this and moved forward to a new project, so the photographers slot opened and I took it. I spoke with the owner and she embraced the window idea so we went for it.. Shot late night with Ms. Paige it was a blast. I love night photography plus a daytime shot would be expected. I wanted to slow things down a bit but did add one studio light. Thank you Ms. Paige for playing in the window you did a great job.

So basically looking over the visual content I'm left thinking a few things.. and the most important is I feel pretty honored to have photographed the people in the ads and then wow six different ads all different thats pretty cool these images were used because they crossed several people for the 'ok'.

Big Goals Scaled Down - Charlotte Style Magazine Behind the Scenes Fall 2011

Big Goals Scaled Down - Charlotte Style Magazine Behind the Scenes Fall 2011
Yes I had big goals of capturing behind the scenes photos from each shoot I attended... so Laugh with me as I explain. The goal was to document each shoot if I was on set, well this plan quickly went out the window. One shoot with photographer Michael Church I felt it would be rude and truthfully I wanted to watch this shoot as I admire his work so I forgot. Then we have the on location shoots well really a person needs this job is what I quickly learned and will assign next time... it just makes sense to assign a photographer to this type of thing as everyone works hard even bystanders.... Basically we all stand back and watch the magic and you quickly forget the goal of shooting...

The first set of images of Dana Jennings and Jackio-O-Photo were super fun to shoot but what I quickly found is Ms. Dana nails every shot she is super sweet  and when you are this sweet the out takes look like a real shot... Thanks Dana!!!!!!!!

The second two are photographers working, magazine people observing and makeup artists on standby. I was hoping to score more than this and had have more but I quickly figured out to put the camera down and be on standby to assist if needed. Yep my job was cheerleader, viewer and fan girl it was so hot this morning. I was afraid the subject of the day dressed in heavy wool was going to pass out...

The final set is where I was actually shooting. This allowed me the excuse of shooting the out takes. Plus the model/shoot team and I have worked together in the past and just have fun the entire time... hence the "shoot me falling", funny faces and just outright laughter in this series....

Director of photography Charlotte Style Magazine

Director of photography Charlotte Style Magazine
Being selected as Director of photography for Charlotte Style Magazine for the make over issue allowed me to put my money were my mouth is. What I mean by this is I believe all photographers have a certain style, that doors should be opened with the idea of not forcing a style and lets play nice.

Well that's a great idea but how does this actually work. What is a standard that will allow a level playing field So the all call went out seeking a professional photographers resume. They came pouring in some proper and some not. So to keep it level I would ask for a second submission from photographers who did not submit proper. The purpose of this is to gently guide photographers who simply never thought to google this or no one ever told them what this means. We have so many photographers who walk fresh out of school but for some reason have no clue of what a professional resume is. This about drove me crazy, I did not clink a link or open files when this information was not included. By not viewing the work and sending a response of this is the deal I felt could gently guide them. If a response came back great and if it came back making statements such as 'just follow this link and let me know" , "I think you should check out my pdf attached" I walked away. The reason for this is if you can't take the time to google or read what I just sent holding your hand stating "Industry Standard" then I don't believe you can meet a deadline or care for the craft.

Keep in mind I had the choice of really whatever I wanted and one thing I wanted was one photographer in the magazine well really two...One photographer is a true technical fashion photographer. I have always admired his work and the bonus is he has no ego just likes what he does. I feel very lucky to have this photographer in the magazine and honored he said yes to my invitation. The second was my first intern and was lucky she was able to find the time between traveling to DC for the Smithsonian as a product photographer and her just graduating. But the catch was she had to submit... this was funny because I received her resume first. What this tells me is this photographer is going to be successful because she gets the level playing field of photography. So having both photographers I knew this issue was a winner. I know me even talking about them could seem like favoritism but its not. What I did was build a frame work of talent because I also believe any smart business person grabs the person who can replace them and who is more talented than them. I know laugh at me but its true because it only makes me look smarter......

Next was digging into the outline and talking/listening with editors. Now this was a treat and at times left me laughing because no matter what the visual sells the text on the page. Some visuals were easier than others and some were supplied by the subject. My task was stop, listen, discuss, discuss and just basically say great idea but....... meaning sometimes it can be difficult when someone comes to me with a idea from 1985 without gasping or taking it as a insult. So that's the stop part. I had to gently say things and shift the visual to the visual goal of my publisher/editor. I get it writers don't follow photography and photographers don't write or at least this one does not (silly blog readers). So a lot of  'come to jesus' meeting happened more than I care to remember, feeling bruised, egos crushed and light shed on many topics I also don't care to remember, scheduling was tough, people learned to not come to me without information because it was a waste of  my, my photographers and other departments time.... but the point is we all learned and I know today everyone is happy with the visuals of the final product but most important my publisher/editor is happy so I did my job... (Yes it was funny to translate artist to real world business, meaning hello sweet artist stop being creative in your mind for a few mins I have some questions for you, once you answer I promise you can return to art world .. it was so fun)

The joy of this project is on many levels. The best time I had was watching the magic happen. To watch each artist work was amazing. To pretend to sit back on shoot days and do nothing was fun. What I did was watch the faces of each artist and to see them smile or look puzzled because they were seeking better work personally was a treat. Each shoot team was paired for the intent of each shoot. Every artist worked hard and was supported by the other artists and a lot of friendships were created during shoots. Egos if any were checked at the doors and artist cheering for artists happened. It was great. On a personal shooting level this issue took on a life of its own. I chose a few simple items to shoot so it did not look like I got the golden topics because I could. The interesting thing is they each by the end of the issue took on a new life. Sure I scored the covers but was not slated for this but what you will notice is Im stunned this happened. Yes I'm truly shocked how from the basic outline how things changed from the start to the final product. Reflecting on it now I think wow did the photo fairies really graced me with this. I think sometime when you take a step down to let others shine you find you end up shining in ways you never knew possible.

I will be posting the articles I shot here over the next week. So knowing I actually have people reading this many thanks for your time and come back later to see what I shot... and WOW people read this I just hope you remember I'm a photographer and not a writer.. so my advise is look at the photos and runaway from text and again thank you for your time.

Charlotte Style Magazine - Double Covers

Charlotte Style Magazine - Double Covers
Yes Yes Yes double covers for Charlotte Style Magazine. I cant believe it myself and still stunned. I found out this was going to be a double cover when I was shooting in New York and totally thinking of well not this. It was funny my publisher was in a different room from me and said it. I thought what did she just say and then it was a blur I dont even know if I responded but I had to sit on this news for a couple of weeks until earlier this week we Charlotte Style made the announcement. At that point I could think about it again. I have to admit to shoot such a special story and then it to become a double was shocking.... because if you follow my blog (silly) I never intended to have the cover much less two... its a wild story so come back to read more posts later this is simple a post to show the double cover...

Many thanks to Charlotte Style Magazine for this amazing gift of not one cover but two.. WOW right...

Charlotte Style Magazine Issue Release Party

Charlotte Style Magazine Issue Release

I've learned a lot being Director of Photography for Charlotte Style Magazine and still learning but enjoying the journey. I have had the pleasure of understanding everyones needs as a point of contact for scheduling & final visual content. So many personalities and the art of placing each department together in a manor that would produce a final product my publisher would approve. The magic behind working with some amazing artist they also take you down roads you never imagined.

Working with unique personalities on days had me translating artist to artist, listening 'harder' and certainly working on a organic level once the information was provided. Sure we had schedules,  I kept my eye on the time, we worked hard but most important we all challenged each other as artists in positive ways. The final issue took on a life of its on once the outline hit my inbox. For example I have to admit I have the cover....ok so I have been told but I really don't want to see it before it comes out. The story behind this topic is amazing but was not slated for the cover until this story took on a life of its on (In Many Many Ways) then bam it was cover.  As a rule you know the cover out of the gate but this changed so fast. I was honored I was slated to shoot this from day one, then it turning to cover....wow.... it's one of those weird cosmic photo gifts. I cant explain the unique manor this story took visual life but I will say its really a stroke of  " this was in the cards" type of experience.

As director of photography its a unique dance with personalities and  I know this issue is going to be pretty special for so many people and that makes me happy.  Its going to be a fantastic celebration... I'm going to enjoy knowing these artists had a blast working together and enjoy the fact I have grown with this journey.

ps - I shot the invite image. Adrian, Larry and I had some play time with model Megan Scott.. Many thank to Megan as webgirl... she rocked it you will see more in time...

Fashions Night Out New York

Great news.... I have the privilege of covering Fashions Night Out New York for Charlotte Style Magazine. You will notice random updates during these events. The purpose is to document my no sleep, slamming coffee journey in the pool of fashion and people. Once I return and things settle from fashion week I will have a packaged image collection that will be hosted with Charlotte Style Magazine actually prior to ever getting home then my version for me when things settle. If you are a fashion person I suggest keep your digital eye on CSM the days of. My information including the team on the ground will be updating as events happen on web/twitter /facebook/blogs... believe me if the media outlet is available it will be posted... really I just hand stuff off to the person who has that job and move forward..

I will be posting to my social media locations once the story hits for the magazine. I will also share random things I know will not run and shot just for me type of thing. This could be a lot of fun or a total underestimation of the time I have from location to location. This is my plan but pushing the button comes first and my social media showoff is ‘so’ later. I understand the marketing value of social media so “bless my little social medias heart” it’s getting ready to take a visual beating. So if by chance you follow my social media just know it could be painful but I’m having a lot of fun!

Take care,
